MEXICO'S ANSWER TO FRENCHY'S

Yes any one familiar with the Maritimes knows what I am talking about.  Once you experience it, its hard to live without.  Awww Frenchys...  bins and bins of great clothes just waiting for the picking.
Some of you have developed great technique in quickly tunneling through a bin of clothes to find that fabulous piece needed in your wardrobe. There should almost be a Frenchy's Olympics.
I guess some are now hanging up all their clothes. Does that reduce the thrill of finding a great deal? Naw, hangers or bins, its still all good.
What name brand will I find today?  Claiborne, Ecco or maybe even a Louis V bag, you just never know.   Or its time to search for more Ocean Pacific gear 'cause your kids have almost worn through the last batch.
Ohhh! and at such great prices!  For $20 you can get a great outfit, shoes and the purse.
Today was a good day.  The gals took me to a lady who buys clothes from the States.  "Well, we'll see what she's got," I think to myself with my fond Frenchy's memories close to my heart.
The gals are banging on the metal gate and calling out her name, no answer.  That's just the way its done here.  One of the gals gives her a call and, yippee, she is at home.
Well, no she doesn't quite have the quantity of Frenchy's but its pretty good. The owner's mom is there and she is so helpful, pulling from new stock things she thinks will fit us.  There are about 10 racks of clothing all neatly hung up in her spotless living room.  She even has things to fit a woman of substance like myself.
We dig in and then take our treasures to a large bedroom where she, kindly, puts on the A/C.  Speaking of an Olympic event, that's what I think trying on clothes should be.  Think about it.  This requires technique and focus.  After trying on a number of outfits that were just not made for your body then you likely have worked up quite a lather. Takes a lot of self discipline to stay composed and controlled so you don't start trying to rip off an, obviously, misdesigned garment.   That didn't happen today but the roomy, cool area was  still greatly appreciated.
So we found some good pieces.  I got a Lane Bryant blouse for 70 pesos and red Capri's for 50 pesos.
How does that translate?  Approx. $5.38 and $3.84 Cdn. so not bad.  Fairly comparable to Frenchy's.
Oh yes, the owner showed me a photo of herself and a gal who came on exchange from where?  Yes Halifax.  Why?  Because they are sister cities in education exchange.  That was kind of cool.  An explanation of that is in my other blog http://thesunnysideofmexicoshesaid.blogspot.mx/
Even though it wasn't quite Frenchy's we sure had a good time.

Here is a photo of the owner, her mom (in the shorts) and my three friends.

So for any of you not familiar with Frenchy's, here is their website.
http://www.scotiawipers.com/ If you are in the Maritimes then their outlets are definitely 'must stops'.  Any husbands left in the car will be sitting along time.
Do you have any good Frenchy's stores do email them or put them in comments.  Love to hear them.
